Malawi does not reveal itself all at once.
A field guide for seeing the country clearly.
The Discovery Surface
Malawi is a narrow country organised around water.
Most of it follows Lake Malawi — from the islands off Likoma down to Cape Maclear — while the parks of Liwonde and Majete sit inland along the Shire River, and the cities of Lilongwe, Blantyre and old Zomba hold the country together. Seeing it clearly is less about a checklist than about understanding how these pieces connect. That is where local knowledge matters, and it is the work NYASA exists to do.

The Malawi Wall
A working archive of a country, gathered slowly.
Twenty-four observations — barbershops in Blantyre, the ferry timetable for Likoma Island, first rains over Zomba, dawn on the Shire at Liwonde. Read together, they are how a place starts to make sense.
